coreutils: coreutils (core GNU utilities)
coreutils:
coreutils: These are the GNU core utilities, the basic command line programs
coreutils: such as 'mkdir', 'ls', and 'rm' that are needed for the system to
coreutils: run. This package is the union of the GNU fileutils, sh-utils, and
coreutils: textutils packages. Most of these programs have significant
coreutils: advantages over their Unix counterparts, such as greater speed,
coreutils: additional options, and fewer arbitrary limits.

NOTE:
This is the coreutils package from Slackware 10.2 with _one_ patch applied to it:
the "uname" patch that gets rid of the "unknown unknown" string in the output of
"uname -a" on your Linux box.
Mine looks like this:
Linux icculus 2.6.13 #1 Sat Sep 3 21:11:20 PDT 2005 i686 athlon-4 i386 GNU/Linux
Also, note that unlike other versions of patched coreutils on the Internet,
my package does *NOT* break the behaviour of the tools like head, tail etc...
A command like "head -1 somefile" will not generate an error complaining about
"head: `-1' option is obsolete; use `-n 1'"
