I'll try that later, for now I'm using the Debian kernel...

I did that, and it boots just fine (except for som unresolved module
symbols - but that's to be expected).
By the way, I expect that there is no reason to CC you when submitting
bug-reports. I'll be submitting quite a few very soon and I'll just send
them to the list.
