Hi Chris,

I just wanted to let you know that I've been playing
with GNOME, KDE, tcl/tk, and emacs. I've been able to
run and use emacs from the command line and from X,
without any problems as of yet. I was not too sure as
to which apps were tck/tk based, but I remember
tkdesk. I played with that a lot.. it's been eons
since I've used tkdesk. It works perfectly. I played
with GNOME, and the big problem is just the fact that
xterm does not work.. but that is what eterm is all
about. I even played with OpenLook.. works like the
good old sun boxes;) Amazingly I did not come across
too many errors in Gnome. All of them are known bugs
that I've seen in even the solaris version. In KDE, I
see some core dumps when I try to do too many things
at the same time with KOffice. So it's just the normal
stuff that has bugs. Otherwise, things are working
well. I've been playing sound files and cd's on it to
make sure that it can do nice things.

I have not played anymore with the boot disks. I'll
get some good floppies tomorrow and test things out
again. I did an old fashion install on the other
parition, it went smoothly. I only ended up running
out of disk space for more stuff. So I ended up
upgrading the packages on the other partition and
testing things out from there. So far soo good. I'm
going through the A and AP1 set to see if there are
any problems.
