I compiled a new kernel in version 2.2.18. It was compiled with
the config that was in the last alpha ISO which did not seem to
have any PCI stuff according to the output of "make oldconfig".
I still don't have the time to tear down my hardware setup to be
able to get my monitor hooked directly to the sparc boxes so I
can run them by keyboard. But maybe this weekend.
In the mean time, I uploaded what I compiled in case someone
might be able to test a kernel who could not compile one. This
kernel can be found at:
http://phil.ipal.org/funinthesun/spica-kernel-and-modules.tar.bz2
The kernel is in there as "usr/src/linux-2.2.18/vmlinux" and the
modules (new ones mixed with old ones, distinguishable by date)
are in there as "lib/modules/2.2.18/...". The log of the compile
is here:
http://phil.ipal.org/funinthesun/kernel-2.2.18-compile-spica-2001-01-04-010855.log.bz2
If this helps anyone, great.
