After you install, if you simply chroot into the Slackware partition and
run setup, all should be well. Additionally, the INSTALL document does
point out that you should run setup after having rebooted.
I generally just reboot into my Slackware system, then run setup. Doing
the chroot thing works for most stuff in setup, but because /proc isn't
mounted, several things will not work.

Maybe I should try my hand at the bootable CD thing again so that the
whole installation process becomes much easier.
