I've got things back up now. Was a long weekend rearranging machines.
First I discovered that I had overallocated PCI slots and didn't have
a place in the machine intended to put the SCSI for the CD writer. Then
I have a dead serial port in the new desktop machine.
Now I'm actually looking at your PROM command and realize you're
suggesting a network install. I'm not set up for that. Do you have
a quickie document on setting up the server side of that? The setup
would be on an Intel Slackware 7.1 box (I now have 4 of them running
here, though a couple are designated for experimenting) with my totally
rewritten inittab and rc scripts.
