Although, even Sun doesn't use just one kernel for their sun4 machines
:)

That sounds reasonable. Most(?) alpha hardware that came from DEC
used either the DEC TGA cards or a VGA which is suportted through
their wonderful BIOS emulation.

This might be good as well. It not only decreases the kernel image, but
also decreases the number of conflicts that can occur. Does anyone use
an USB device to install to/from?
